...a legacy in the making
They say “The youth is our future” and as the CTVL Commissioner I truly believe in that. As a kid, I grew up watching my dad played this game and hoped that one day I could continue his legacy. I am a 2nd generation Volleyball player in a family that now has 4 generations of Volleyball players. I’ve played this game for over 10 years and every year I can see my personal development within the game. This game is my savior because it has helped me through a lot of troubled times. Therefore I have helped create this League within Chánh Tâm because I feel that it is a positive thing to give to the youths. Growing up in this generation I have witnessed and experienced what bad influences can do to a youth. As I have tried to change myself, I have wanted to give the youths the opportunity to do something positive with their free time and stay away from those influences. I know I’m not the greatest role model and I’m not trying to be. I just feel that if I can share my love for this game with others and at the same time help them in a positive way then why not. This is the League’s 2nd Season and with every bump, every set, every spike I’ve seen the growth in these kids and the League itself. If you compare last Season to this Season you can say that there is a huge improvement in skills and interest within the League. All the players have learned so much and it has taken their game to the next level which makes the League more exciting and competitive. I think this Season has been a big success because we have turned this League into more than just a sport, but as an outlet for kids to learn about team work and leadership. Personally as a player the highlight of my Season is playing with my own Team (Team Elite). Team Elite is more than just a team in the League, it is a Volleyball Organization that I hope to establish in the future that will help bring more Elite talent to the game of Volleyball. This Season I’ve accomplished everything a player can do in this League which is tohave a perfect Season. I honor this Season to Team Elite, I love you guys with all my heart. One Team.
